Ever since I was a child, I loved to make people feel and look beautiful.

Beauty Potions

Here lately, I’ve been channeling my inner Hocus Pocus and doing some research on ‘mocktails’ that are catered towards beauty! The idea of making your own beauty elixir to sip on by the fire pit, over a good book or in the tub, just makes me swoon. Not only because half of these beauty potion recipes that I found were almost too pretty to drink, but it’s sort of a ceremonious time between you and that mocktail that you can soak up the beauty and really just enjoy yourself in that moment. I know for myself, I rarely just stop and relax. And even when I am relaxing, my brain is stimulated. So there have been times as of late that I’ve been needing to force myself that time to unwind and decompress. And I thought, what better way to either start the day or end the day with a beautiful drink that you can enjoy, all while seeing the effects through your glowing skin.

Why Potions

Whether it’s for ritual or skin healing, drinkable elixirs, potions, whatever you want to call it are an excellent way to get all the goodness from a wholesome diet, in one drinkable glass. As our world speeds up, it’s so important for all of us to create rituals or moments to ourselves to bask in the glory around us. Or just a time to think about something on your mind. Using an elixir has a way to meditate and ground yourself not only helps your mind, but it ultimately helps your skin too. And not just that, but when you have lower stress hormones (cortisol) your skin looks better.

Potions are truly just a mix of typically powder & liquid ingredients that blend all sorts of goodness into one simple drink. Use these drinks as a time to unwind or a time to take in those vitamins or adaptogens that you can’t always get through food. I would also encourage you to find a beautiful glass or mug that you can use to help you celebrate your ‘me time’. And I love shopping.
