#Goals I like the term goals rather than resolutions! What say you?

While we certainly can appreciate ‘New Years Resolutions’, we found that too often we let ourselves down by creating so much hype and false hopes that we spent the year feeling crappy for not meeting all of our resolutions. So ever since then, I’ve personally referred to any objective as a goal! It’s something you’re working towards & not something that is resolute, but rather changing in nature!

But enough about my darn soapbox! We’d love to hear your skincare goals for 2018. Here are our most exciting desires into the year & we’re anxious to see how it’s going to evolve.

Continue with regular IPL treatmentsHands down, one of THE best treatments that I’ve had for my skin… maybe THE best! Did wonders for my dark spots, helped my wrinkles & lessen the look of my capillaries. I had 3 treatments in a row done at the end of 2017 and cannot say enough positive things about IPL. 3-6 treatments are recommended for best results, in a row.. so while I followed that regime, folks can get just as many positive results if they spread out their following treatments throughout the year. So I will definitely plan on getting 2 to 3 more in 2018 and follow along with that regime moving forward in years to come. I would HIGHLY recommend IPL to anyone who is looking to up their skincare game. For me, it’s $295, but my doctor gave me $100 off… if you are looking for savings, ask your doctor if you can buy ‘by package’ and they often offer savings like the one I got when you buy in ‘bulk’.

Continue with my Botox regime – So every 3-4 months, I hop on over to my doctors for a Botox celebration! I’ve been doing this for about 10 years, but have really noticed it helping more and more as time as gone on. Botox is often known as a ‘prevention procedure’ because it teaches your muscles not to make those movements over time. I alternate between the 11 in my eyebrow area & my forehead (I’m thinking I’ll start getting my forehead done more often in a row as I’ve seen the 11 area really improve over the last couple years), then I get my crows feet and under eye area done. It’s not cheap, but I get TONS of money from my Brilliant Distinctions points… like a LOT! Right now, I’ve got $200 FREE dollars to spend on my next treatment (I had $570 last time)… free money is what I live for!! Signing up is free too! It’s one of those ‘too good to be true’ things, but it ain’t!

Add in a ‘lactic acid’ into my skincare routine – I’ve been eyeing Good Genes All-In-One Lactic Acid Treatment from Sunday Riley for a hot minute. I finally splurged and got it! YASSS!! It isn’t cheap, but I’ve really been wanting to start a treatment that will help with my pores, dark spots, dryness, flakiness, etc. I’m considering this a ‘once over’ product that will be my saving grace to help me maintain my skin between in-office treatments & also improve my skin where I need it!

Address my Keratosis Pilaris (KP)For years, I have had those red bumps on my arms & in the inside of my thighs! It’s KP & I know what’s going on, but I just haven’t messed with it. There is no rhyme or reason behind why I’ve left it as is, but I’m starting to tire of it! Especially since we seemingly are always ‘required’ to wear sleeveless shirts in this hell hole of a summer! So I decided this year, I’m gonna tackle it and see how good it can get! I read on Buzzfeed that SOOO many people are swearing by Amlactic Daily Moisturizing Body Lotion, so I’m gonna order here soon! If you’ve tried it out, let us know!

Continue adding more hydration into my routine – As ya know, my skin is super, super dry! I would often wake up and my face would feel that tightness you get from just washing your face with too heavy of a face wash, when in fact, it’s lathered up with all sorts of lotions….. It was really discouraging. But lately, I’ve REALLY been loving my routine of 3 facial oils that are seemingly

VERY hydrating and I’m not waking up with that tight face feeling. These facial oils are not just for those with dry skin… they’ve got anti-aging properties, hydration benefits, targets dark spots & acne scars, reduces redness, targets fine lines, acne, oiliness, etc. The list goes on! Hydration and moisture are the MAIN two things you can do to help your skin age less.

I can’t decide if I’m done yet with this whole facial oil bit, but I’m really happy where I am! I will continue to be open about adding other facial oils to my routine.

Use facial masks more often – I LOOOVEEEE the idea of masks and I love when I do them, but I don’t currently do any masks for my skin that are super hydrating. I tend to use the masks that either target my dark spots or have anti-aging properties. It’s not all that often that I focus on my skin’s moisture when I do a mask so I’m looking forward to finding some amazing masks that help with hydration. If I were disciplined and organized enough, which is one of my goals, I would do a mask every day of some kind. Whether it’s my Glytone Glycolic Peel that I swear by, or a few new ones I’m checking out this year, it’s time to get serious about face masks!

Drink more water! – So this is always my downfall! I tend to suck down 2 cups of coffee like nobody’s business & then when it comes time to drink water, I either forget or just don’t pay any attention that I haven’t drank water in 2+ hours and act like everything is fine (literally what I’ve accomplished while writing this blog)! I call my husband an ‘aquaholic’ because ALL HE DOES is drink water… it’s really quite crazy to me how much he drinks, but he’s 37 and gets mistaken for being in his late 20’s quite often, so I applaud him! Water does do the body good.

Moisturize my bod more often This is another thing I don’t excel at! This, water drinking & shaving my legs (soooo much hair!!!!!!)…. I’m hoping that when I order that KP lotion from up above it will help me with overall moisture for my skin and not just ‘attack’ the KP going on! Like I’ve said 1,000 times before, it’s so dry here and I tend to only use lotion when I’m overly itchy, so my goal this year would be to use it every day, regardless of how my skin is feeling!

Make skincare more ritualistic – This is a BIG one for me… I rush through most of my life, acting like I’m super busy with TONS of places to go and people to see! While I am a busy beaver in life, I don’t need to rush so much. And that includes the rushing I do during my skincare routine. This goes hand in hand with wanting to use facial masks more I think too! Just take the time to appreciate my skin and enjoy applying the products. Since learning my Cortisol levels were at 70, when they should be at 3… those stress hormones, I really need to slow down in every aspect of my life and I look forward to being more ritualistic when it comes to my skincare routine. I would encourage you Cheeky’s to do the same. Take an epson salt, lavender bath when you do your facials. Don’t see shaving as such a mundane routine but rather as a way to best exfoliate… just thoughts like that can change your mindset about how you take care of your body!

I am sure I can think of SOOO many more skincare goals going into 2018, but I’ve been working on this blog for over 3 days, so I feel that it’s time to call it quits.
