Update: One of the best peels we’ve found! Couldn’t be happier with the decrease in fine lines and wrinkles & my skin is looking so amazing these days. Would highly recommend.
When it comes to skincare, there are several things I look for when choosing products to share with ya’ll (lately I’ve been saying ‘ya’ll’ and I have no idea why… I’m certainly not southern, but it’s just such a great all-encompassing word, but anyways)….
Beauty Award winners, proven products, before and after photos, positive reviews from folks like us, tested in clinical trials, widely recognized product lines, with an unwavering following, affordable (though I certainly know how to get us to splurge every now and then), product lines that stand behind their products, quality ingredients, bonus: no animal testing, easy to use, works in a reasonable amount of time, easy to get your hands on, plus probably 500 more things, but the first 13 stick out most to me!
If you read one of my most recent blog posts on the SpectraLite EyeCare Pro LED Device you know I have an obsession with Dr. Dennis Gross’ skincare products. I first discovered them at Nordstrom 5 or 6 years ago and ever since then, I’ve never strayed. Though I certainly love SkinMedica & SkinCeuticals, Dr. Dennis Gross and his team keep coming up with innovative, affordable, proven to work products, plus they’ve liked my Instagram posts so my ego enjoys that! (exhibit A)
Just recently I stumbled upon Dr. Dennis Gross’ Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel! It’s an Oprah Spring Beauty Award Winner, has an average of 4.8-star rating and the proven, one-step peel is an easy way to bring the ‘sexy back’ – thank you Justin Timberlake! PLUS, you will start seeing results in 14 days!!!!!!!!!!! WINNING!
So you might be thinking… what is ‘ferulic’ first off…. !?!?! Ferulic is an acid that will have a BIG impact on your anti-aging regimen. It’s found naturally in the seeds of apples & oranges that works by fighting free-radicals to keep you looking younger! And we know what retinol is because we’ve been reading Cheeky, right!? 😉 Retinol is a derivative of Vitamin A that boosts collagen, speeds cell turnover & helps to rid of fine lines and wrinkles! I was telling my mom the other day that my ‘crows feet’ are GONE after using SkinMedica Retinol .5 for the last 6 months. I just ran out of it, so I gotta get some more! I used to get Botox in those areas, but haven’t done that in ages.
So how do these two AMAZING ingredients work together to deliver unbelievable results?! Basically we’re getting professional grade treatment from those two ingredients! It works in two major ways:
‘To accelerate skin renewal, and as an anti-ager by delivering retinol + ferulic acid to the areas that need it most to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, loss of firmness, and for a more even-looking complexion – in just one step.’ – Dr. Dennis Gross

My First Experience!
That is not my forehead, you’re probably thinking ‘duh, I’m not seeing two caterpillar eyebrows’!
I received my first set of 16 applications in the mail yesterday that are to be used 2-3 times a week, depending on your skin sensitivity so if we did the math (my dad would be proud), these will last you about 2 months! So for $88, I think that’s a pretty good deal. Wait, is my math right? Now I’m panicking!!! Let’s move along!
I took it out of the package, and it was a pre-soaked pad that I gently massaged over my clean, dry face. I think I used it for about a minute or so and then threw it out. I waited for it to ‘dry’ and then applied my boatload of other skincare products and headed to bed. I woke up this morning looking quite refreshed though my skin did feel a little itchy and slight peeling in spots. Otherwise, it didn’t feel tight or dry!
Dr. Dennis Gross and his team do recommend that you use the pads with their Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Overnight Serum, but I didn’t purchase that.. I’ll let you know if I do!
Alright folks, well there you have it! Let me know if you wanna chat more about it in the comments section below! I’ll be sure to keep you in the loop on my success!
