Ever since I was a child, I loved to make people feel and look beautiful.

Glytone: A Review

I have a mild obsession with Glytone products & so does my dermatologist! Which we all appreciate a professional opinion, right!? Glytone Skin Care, a line of dermatologist grade skincare products designed to improve the appearance of your skin tone since 1998. It was created by two pharmacists and a dermatologist with a focus on one main ingredient, free glycolic acid. It also boasts how the products are geared toward sensitive skin, but strong enough to tackle the worst of the worst.

I first stumbled on Glytone when my Botox doc recommended it to me. I was suffering from hormonal acne at the time and as we know from reading other Cheeky blogs that glycolic acid is one of the best ingredients for acne because it sloughs off the dead skin that is clogging pores. I have continued to use Glytone in my skincare regime and recommended it to a fellow Cheeky just recently and she has noticed her bumps on her forehead and cheek area improving. I also have recommended these products to a Cheeky who was coming off a strong acne cream & birth control and wanted to make sure her skin didn’t go back to what it had been prior to those products. We haven’t heard back, but my point is, it’s strong enough to tackle things like hormonal acne but gentle enough not to cause skin to go into a state of shock.

Glytone offers a wide variety of products to tackle any skin condition that you’re dealing with, including:

  • Dry skin
  • Aging skin
  • Hyper pigmentation
  • Redness
  • Sun damaged skin
  • Acne prone skin
  • KP skin

It also offers products to help prep skin prior to deeper chemical peels & post procedure skin.

Even if Glytone isn’t on your list, we would highly encourage you to add glycolic acid to your skincare regime. Here are our suggestions:

  • As an every day cleanser & exfoliant
  • Help accelerate skin’s natural repair process
  • To instantly boost & brighten dull skin
  • Keep acne acne at bay
  • To clear body acne & smooth rough, bumpy skin
  • To soften rough, dry skin

Glycolic acid is part of the group of active compounds known as AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acids). Derived from cane sugar.

If you’re trying to tackle an issue or are just starting out with an improved skincare regime, I would highly recommend Glytone products. Below are some of my favorites!

Mild Gel Cleanser $33

‘Glytone Mild Gel Cleanser features AHAs to help exfoliate your complexion and remove impurities. This gentle face wash features glycolic acid to diminish dead skin cells, resurface your complexion and promote cellular regeneration. Your skin is left with balanced pH levels and a brilliant glow.’

Glytone Mini Peel Gel #CheekysChoice $64

This is the peel that I have & recommended to a fellow Cheeky

‘Glytone Rejuvenating Mini Peel Gel (formerly Step-Up Boost Mini Peel Gel) improves the skin’s texture and radiance for a more youthful appearance. Glycolic acid exfoliates dead skin cell buildup and removes impurities from pores. Formulated for use on all skin types and won’t cause irritation.’

Glytone Exfoliating Lotion $50

‘Glytone Exfoliating Lotion 17 (formerly Exfoliating Lotion Step 3) contains a 17% Free Acid Value of glycolic acid to ensure maximum rejuvenating benefits as it moisturizes and illuminates your skin. It exfoliates dead skin cells to diminish fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and breakouts as it controls oil, leading to a smoother and brighter complexion while promoting a soft and supple texture.’
