This washboard abs image…. sheer luck that Cheeky found it! It’s everything!
One of Cheeky’s favorite things to do is go through dozens, maybe even hundred of websites (when I drink caffeine) to see about innovative, new or trending cosmetic treatments. In fact, I was just telling my co-worker the other day that if/when I own my own skincare boutique, I want to be able to provide more than just facials… I want to be able to do as many helpful treatments as I can so it’s important for Cheeky to be well-versed in what options are out there.
The best part of Cheeky, I think personally, is that all of our feedback is non-biased (or we do our best at least). There isn’t a product line were loyal to, there isn’t a treatment that we ‘sell’… It’s all just facts about products, procedures and our own personal experience. It makes for a really honest skincare environment for all us Cheeky’s and that will remain forever important to me.
But with research comes REALLY interesting treatments that I haven’t heard of before, or maybe I have but we haven’t written about it quite yet. And one of these treatments that is new to me is high def liposuction by Vaser. Now, I imagine that my skincare boutique wouldn’t be able to offer this because I would have to be a doctor, which I don’t want to be (schools way too hard), but it’s definitely something I want to be knowledgeable of in case that’s something I could recommend to a future patient. And can you imagine how far we’ll come in skincare when Cheeky has an adorable boutique!? It excites me just thinking about it! Oh my god, can you imagine how it will look? Eclectic, bohemian decor will line the walls, patchouli burning, Indie music softly playing and sugar plum fairies… nope, nope, wrong dream.
The group that owns Vaser, Valeant Pharmaceuticals International, also created Thermage, Liposonix, Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant (which I just got done yesterday BTW for my melasma and I’ll be writing about that whole experience soon) and also Isolaz, so they’re HUGE players in this anti-aging, ever-improving playing field of skincare! (Does that last part make sense? It sounded good! Or maybe I just wanted to use ‘playing field’ with college football coming up, not sure… Go Buckeyes & my first love, Clemson btw) ANYWAYS, Vaser has created a liposuction treatment/technique that actually allows you to contour your body in addition to getting rid of stubborn fat!!
If you’re reading this thinking you’ve been working out, eating right or maybe you’re over that and you just want to change the way in which your bod looks, this Vaser product seems to promise just that. Ready to suck the fat away? Let’s see how it works!
What is Vaser Lipo?
VASERlipo® is the customizable body sculptor that gets rid of fat and smoothes the skin’s surface, helping you feel spicy. This minimally-invasive liposuction procedure uses ultrasound waves to selectively break up areas of fat while the surrounding tissues are left intact.
Ultrasound-based liposuction techniques were first introduced in the 1980s and in the late 90’s, Dr. William W. Cimino developed the Vaser system! It has since become one of the most popular ultrasound-assisted liposuction procedures available, according to various sources. (Can’t speak for myself)
How Does It Work?
‘Laser-assisted liposuction uses thermal energy to destroy fat cells and seal off surrounding vessels. The tissue is then removed with a traditional liposuction tube. Traditional liposuction is a method in which the surgeon inserts a suction probe through a small incision, pushing and pulling through the fat layer to break up the fat tissue. A suction pump is then used to draw the fatty tissue out of the body. Similar to suction-assisted liposuction, power-assisted liposuction uses a specialized tube and mechanized movements to help break up the fat tissue.’
Borrowed that information directly from Laser so I wouldn’t butcher it.
Would This Be ‘Good’ For You?
Vaser candidacy is pretty much identical compared to other liposuction procedures. It is not to be considered as a weight loss treatment but a way to remove fatty deposits from specific areas of the body and not normally the face area.
Vaser is an outpatient surgical procedure that can be performed under local or general anesthesia.
The treatment area is first filled with a saline solution that is designed to help minimize bruising associated with the procedure. The solution works by shrinking blood vessels which ultimately helps with minimizing blood loss. Once this solution has been applied, little incisions are made and a special probe is inserted. Ultrasonic energy is transmitted via the probe (that’s a weird word and I had to use it a second time), breaking down fat cells that are then suctioned from the body.
The amount of time required to complete the treatment varies depending on the locations that’s being treated and the amount of fat being removed. Typically a couple hours is all that’s needed.
Folks are able to return home almost immediately after the procedure is completed. However, recovery is about a week until you can go about your daily life.
Results & Recovery
Recipients of the Vaser treatment often see results almost immediately after the procedure is completed, though full results aren’t seen for a few months.
- Single procedure results with quick recovery times
- Improved body contouring over traditional liposuction
- Easily treats large amounts of fat
- Smoothes skin even in delicate areas like the arms and neck
- Refines and accentuates appearance of muscles
What Is the Cost?
It’s similar to traditional lipo and costs anywhere from $2,000 to $3500.
