Ever since I was a child, I loved to make people feel and look beautiful.

Holiday Travel Friendly Beauty Essentials

YAY! Holiday travels are nearing! What are you guys doing for your holidays? This year the fam and I are headed to California which will be nice (assuming all is okay with the fires… thinking of all those who are suffering & THANK YOU to the countless firefighters, military & first responders risking their lives). Looking forward to several days of relaxation. And not only that, but everyone has been really chill about the hubbub this year! Not tons of gifts, not a whole lot of hype, just time for the family to be together, so I’m excited for that. But because we live in good old Arizona, we’ll be hopping on a jet plane to see the gang! Jet plane = crappy skin! At least for me, I’ve seen it time and time again. Every time I would go on a trip, I would slack on my current skincare regime & I would also find that my zits were just popping out of every pore possible! It wasn’t until in my late 20’s was I realizing that I needed to take even BETTER care of my skin while traveling, especially if traveling on an airplane.

When you travel by way of jet, your skin goes through all sorts of changes. First, you’ve got very little humidity in the cabin leaving your skin very little room to breathe causing it to look dull and lackluster. Then that lack of humidity and excessive dryness causes breakouts due to our skin’s sebaceous glands overcompensating, triggering an increase in oil production! And if you thought it stopped there, we’re afraid you’d be wrong! Being sedentary on a flight means less circulation which can lead to puffiness & the dreaded bloating.

So whenever I’m on a flight now, I made every effort possible to treat my skin with care AND continue following my lengthy skincare regime to a T while I’m on vacation! If you’ve got too many gifts in your carry-on and you’ve packed more sweaters than sense (which will be me), then there are so many amazing travel mini’s to help keep your skin glowing! And hey, not hopping on a jet plane? It doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some of these amazing items in your stockings this year.

Rose Hibiscus Hydrating Face Mist comes in an amazing 2 oz bottle that is perfect for security checked items! I use this twice a day, when I wake up and before bed. It gives your skin an amazing dewy glow when you need it most. I have brought the travel size with me on numerous flights and spritz away. It’s a pleasant smell & light one, so I haven’t gotten any dirty looks.

Silk it up with the Slip Pure Silk Sleep Mask! Have a longer flight? Consider a silk sleeping mask! Plus, you can use it at home when the trip is all said and done. Silk does WONDERS for our skin so it’s worth the buy.

  • ‘Helps to reduce signs of friction, stretching and tugging on delicate facial skin
  • Silk fibers promote longevity of facial products
  • Reduces pressure on delicate eye area
  • Prevents visibly signs of fatigue
  • Promotes a restful night’s sleep
  • Recommended by dermatologists, plastic surgeons, hairdressers and beauty experts’ – Slip

Jade rollers are DEFINITELY helpful with face de-puffing! I tend to wake up pretty puffy every morning and I just roll the heck out of my face and look WAY more refreshed. Jade rollers specifically help with lymphatic drainage so you will see a great improvement when it’s all said in done in the way you look! At least I do!

‘Jade Roller Benefits Include:

  • Improve blood circulation and skin tone
  • Improve elasticity of the skin
  • Promote lymphatic drainage
  • Reduce puffiness and wrinkles
  • Reduce dark under eye circles
  • Eliminate toxins
  • Tighten and reduce pore size’ – Herbivore

Drink up the beautiful goodness from within with Matcha tea from Rishi. Matcha green tea is one of the most well-known antioxidants that promotes amazing skin.  It’s way more jammed pack with goodness than even traditional green tea. Matcha green tea helps with a variety of things for your bod, including-

  • Helps boost metabolism – much needed for air travel
  • Detoxifies naturally
  • Calms the mind and relaxes the bod – I need all the help I can get on a plane
  • Is rich in fiber & veta vita vegemens
  • Enhances mood
  • Aids in concentration
  • Provides vitamin C, selenium, zinc and magnesium
  • Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar

If you’re tucked away and feeling the confidence, sheet masks are an AMAZING way to get the much needed moisture back into your skin! I always say I’m gonna do it, but this year, I’m gonna brave my fears and whip on a face mask during the flight. Either that or some eye masks I just got! If you’re with me, then we are loving Dr. Jart’s Water Replenishment Cotton Sheet Mask.

For even extra hydration, consider an antioxidant facial oil like Noni Glow Face Oil by Kora Organics. This has been on my wish list for some time now. ‘Certified Organic Noni Extract, Rosehip Oil, Pomegranate Oil and Sea Buckthorn Oil combine to create a rich source of antioxidants and essential fatty acids to smooth, nourish and brighten your skin.’ – Kora Organics

Boscia Green Tea Oil Linens are amazing for those with extra oily skin during the flight! If oily skin is dehydrated, oil production increases to combat dryness & then the skin freaks out and you’re starting to see your breakouts! Ugh! Blot away with these amazing green tea oil linens!

#CheekyConfidential ‘3-1-1 for carry-ons = 3.4 ounce (100ml) bottle or less (by volume) ; 1 quart-sized, clear, plastic, zip-top bag; 1 bag per passenger placed in screening bin. One-quart bag per person limits the total liquid volume each traveler can bring. 3.4 ounce (100ml) container size is a security measure.’ – Homeland Security

PLEASE do not forget to wear sunscreen & re-apply on the flight! I especially love ColorScience’s sunscreen because it’s in a powder form, so I won’t screw up anything I’ve already got on with one of those oily sunscreens!

You’ve LANDED!!!!

So you’ve followed all the amazing instructions above & your skin is feeling nice, hydrated & oil-free, you still will want to wash your face when ya land and apply a light acid peel-type product to your face to help slough off all the dry skin that has accumulated. Consider applying a gel mask that is both calming and deeply hydrating! We adore anything by First Aid Beauty, including their Ultra Repair Instant Oatmeal Mask!
