Ever since I was a child, I loved to make people feel and look beautiful.

Jade Versus Rose Quartz Facial Rollers

We had a very loyal Cheeky ask us about the differences between jade & rose quartz facial rollers! We were so happy to hear from her and very much appreciated this question because we certainly had to read more about it. I was rather surprised by some of the key differences. If you’re into facial rolling of any kind, it’s worth a read.

On Instagram, the hashtag #jaderoller serves up over 17k posts as influencers, beauty brands and skincare obsessives alike use them to make their shelfies prettier, but it isn’t all about good looks, according to Refinery29. Facial rollers are becoming more and more popular because of our desire to go back to basics in skincare, and you know that that’s a big change we’ll see in 2019. I mean truly, it makes sense for the beauty industry to incorporate the natural, organic benefits of crystals into their products and skincare routines as more consumers are steering clear of chemicals & even some procedures & treatments.  And not just that, but many crystals claim to hold on to an energy healing vibration which can relax, soothe, uplift and rejuvenate. (We’ve got a LOT of crystals in our house for this very reason)

Jade Roller

Jade has been used for thousands of years in Chinese skincare! Yup, THOUSANDS! So it’s probably gonna work & we would have to agree. Like all facial rollers, jade improves fluid tissue circulation which helps to reduce puffiness, fine lines & wrinkles and supports lymphatic function. And even more so, a true jade roller will have a little more resistance on the skin as it is not as silky smooth as other crystals. And experts say that because of this, it will have more impact on the solid tissues of the face so you’ll see more lifting and contouring.

What does it improve?

  • Improves blood circulation and skin tone
  • Improves elasticity of the skin
  • Promotes lymphatic drainage
  • Reduces puffiness and wrinkles
  • Reduces dark under eye circles
  • Tightens and shrinks pores

I use a jade roller every night before I go to bed & I just LOVE IT!

Quartz Roller

If you struggle with sensitive or reactive skin, a rose quartz facial roller could be just the one for you! It is ideal for inflammatory skin conditions such as rosacea, because it’s so cooling (could even be more beneficial for folks with melasma). On a physical level it pulls inflammation from the body, calming and regulating it, and if you’ve slept like crap the night before, you can expect this to de-puff and calm your skin!

What does it improve?

  • Improves blood circulation and skin tone
  • Boost natural collagen
  • Improve elasticity
  • Promotes lymphatic drainage
  • Tightens pores
  • Eliminates toxins
  • Helps to brighten your skin

Other interesting differences….

  • Jade is a stone known for peace, wisdom and balance where rose quartz is known for enhancing anything love related and exerts calming gentle vibrations of love and peace.
  • The jade’s molecular structure disperses heat easier than rose quartz crystal, so you can expect your quarter crystal roller to stay cooler for a little longer than the Jade. (To combat this, stick your jade in the fridge, 30 mins before use)
  •  Jade supposedly relaxes the nervous system and removes the toxins from your skin. While the Rose Quartz stone comes with anti-aging properties by helping boost microcirculation, and exerting calming vibes.

The verdict?! You can’t go wrong with either of ’em! Both of them will work for your skin type if used properly!

How do you practice jade rolling? It’s easy!

Step 1: Cleanse your face

Optional: Exfoliate & add an oil or serum on top (this is not always necessary because we recommend doing jade rolling twice a day and if you exfoliated that much your face would fall of)

Step 2: Start rolling

#CheekyConfidential I did just read today that you should start out in the neck area to loosen any congestion down there so the drainage can easily make it’s way down when it comes time to rolling your face – I think I would start with the neck and then end with the neck, but that’s just me.

For the BEST instruction possible, it’s probably easiest to learn through a great video!
