Scouring the internet… scouring the stores…scouring Instagram…scouring publications! We are always scouring for the newest, latest and greatest when it comes to our skin! What I really, truly love about the skincare realm is that it’s ALWAYS changing. It’s always advancing, it’s always getting creative, it’s always motivated. Skincare is supposed to reach, in global sales, $319 billion by next year. And even more shockingly, it’s supposed to reach over $800 billion by 2023. That’s NUTS! Whole lotta moola going on there. So yes, as we can see, more and more people are investing in skincare and that is a big motivator for companies & individuals alike to come up with better ways in which we can mature and treat our skin.
And that brings me to my latest fascination, the Face Gym! Okay, so I get pretty obsessed with a lot of things… but I really find myself getting obsessed with dang good finds. Not to toot my own little horn, but I think I know what to look for when it comes to skincare.
So it wasn’t too long ago when I was doing some Instagramming (I need to do a better job at following people and getting into all that… I just like writing a little better than taking selfies, but hey, if that’s what it takes!), I stumbled upon a really cool idea, based in London (also now in the US at Saks in NYC) called the Face Gym. And it’s literally a gym for your face. Like I’m talking little miniature medicine ball-looking things, an IV drip to boost your skin’s performance, customized serums to rejuvenate the skin, along with special tools that can help you shape & sculpt your beautiful face. It’s literally a gym for yo FACE (employees wear workout gear!)! How fascinating right? And it’s non invasive, well except for the IV part and it’s pretty darn proven to work.
Created by Inge Theron, who discovered Face Gym after she had a type of facelift gone wrong and became homebound for a pretty long time. She was frustrated that it took all this time, money and recovery to get the face that she desired. She decided it was time to do something about it! And that’s when she created the Face Gym.
What Does Face Gym Offer
I had to do a lot of digging and piecing together because it’s not so straightforward, but here are some of the offerings/packages that I found.
- Signature muscle manipulation technique
- Electrical muscle stimulation
- Yoga ball muscle stretching
- Jade tool ‘rolling’
- Customized serums for your skin type
- Blast of frozen CO2 and atomized actives
- Skin IV™ technology delivers acids, peptides and vitamins
- Cryo Oxygen
Are you Cheeky’s able to find anything else we missed?
So theoretically, you could do most of these offerings at home. I don’t think it would be that easy to get a personal IV system or a cryo oxygen machine in your bedroom, but seemingly, there are several things you can do on your own that give you that much needed boost.
Pure Lift Device – $599
‘Think of it as a powerplate for your face. Your face has tens of thousands of small muscle fibres that, over time, become weak and lose their elasticity. The FaceGym Pro device applies mild yet forceful EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) to the face, strengthening the muscle to visibly lift, tone and tighten in as little as 10 minutes!’
Face Ball – $22
‘The Face Ball is a mini ‘yoga ball’ for the face, designed to support lymphatic draining, improve muscle tone and release tension.’
Hayo’u Beauty Restorer – $40
‘The beauty restorer tool promotes lymphatic drainage to reduce toxins, manipulates areas of tension to stimulate and regenerate cells and alleviates stress related symptoms such as clenched jaw, eye-strain and daytime fatigue.’
