As many of our loyal readers know by now, we’re the type of ‘Go big or go home’ community! We try not to waste our own time and most importantly your time with products, treatments, advice, etc. that won’t work for you in the best way possible. We’re either going to recommend the best or not recommend them at all. And that will always be our focus. But we’re not here to rant and rave about how important all that is… we want to introduce you to the option of adding boosters into your skincare routine. It goes with our whole go big or go home notion, and also helps those folks that may not be as patient with skincare treatments and products as they should. And that includes me, absolutely, 100% – I’m waving my hands!
The reason why boosters can be so beneficial is because they produce a surge in the health of your skin so you can see results more quickly. So of course, we love that, but we also have to appreciate the idea that laser treatments typically take 3 to 6 times to see any results. So while a lot of skincare techniques & treatments take time to see results, you can do things here and there to speed up how you look and feel.
Boosters are basically just super concentrated elixirs that are formulated with key doses of nutrients to supercharge your skin any time you need it. In fact, they are often most marketed as droplets that you can add to your current moisturizers, masks, serums and even foundations. They give anything a BOOST!
We must remember that these boosters won’t solve our skin woes in a New York minute but they can be used as add-ons to transform your complexion, when you need it most. Okay, so think of it this way… when we were in California over Christmas, there were tiny little shot glasses at our hotel every morning during breakfast that included like 5 varieties of juice-bar shots. I for one find most of them repulsive (my poobear was all over it!!!!!!), but if you’ve ever had one, you know that those shots are intended to help you when you’re feeling run down, tackle any gut issues you have, etc… Though they’re not the end all be all & won’t make you the pillar of health, folks typically feel & look better after those shots. So the same can be said about boosters!
Side note: When we were in Austria, my brother tricked me into taking a shot of the ‘fruit juice’ nearby (remember when palate cleansing was a thing?) and drink it really quickly! Assuming it was actually fruit, I chugged it down. In my defense, there was fruit at the top of the shot. Needless to say it was Vodka and I felt shitfaced at 11 years old 😉 I still need to get him back!
I digress, once again! So let’s take a look at some of our favorite boosters that you can consider when your skin is in need of a pick-me-up. You should literally see me today……. I need one hell of a booster. I have been using spray tan so I don’t look like Casper, but only on my bod. My face is pretty pale if I don’t have sunscreen or makeup on, so instead of using my ‘tanner’ sunscreen color, I used my ‘light’ sunscreen… so I look extremely unwell today. My dad asked if I was shinier than normal…. He clearly was trying to be nice. ‘Kid, you look like death’ is what he should have said!
✓ Detoxifies & plumps skin
✓ Refreshes complexion
‘Mix it in to recharge your skin! Just add 3-5 drops to your moisturizer, mask, serum or foundation you choose. Apply evenly to clean, dry skin working from the center of your face outward, while lightly pressing on drainage points. Do not use alone. Formula MUST BE MIXED with another face product.’
Cell respiration is activated to brighten tone. Skin is instantly plumped while the depth of wrinkles appears dramatically reduced. Mix one or two drops of Oxygen Booster into your serum or moisturizer to ‘boost’ your skincare.’
So this guy isn’t necessarily a BOOSTER per say (I feel fancy when I say that), but it works really quickly to clear folks acne and congestion! Jeanne, if you’re reading this, this may help you too.
‘With 1.5 percent salicylic acid, this fast-acting, quick-drying, medicated oil clears acne and blackhead-causing buildup and debris from congested pores for smoother, blemish-free skin. Tea tree oil and black cumin seed oil support clear skin, while hexylresorcinol and licorice naturally brighten the appearance of old acne discolorations for a more even-toned complexion.’
‘Add critical UVA and UVB defense to your moisturizer or foundation with this Broad Spectrum sunscreen for all skin conditions. Antioxidant vitamins C and E improve skin smoothness and softness while providing added defense against skin-aging free radicals.’
For all my melasma and dark spot suffers out there!
‘This illuminating serum is a glow booster to help restore radiance. Murunga Plum, known to be 100 times more concentrated in Vitamin C than oranges, combined with alpha hydroxy acid helps to brighten the complexion and smooth skin texture.’
