Ever since I was a child, I loved to make people feel and look beautiful.

What I’m Most Thankful For

…in the skincare realm.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays! It’s a wonderful chance to see your friends and family and take time to reflect on all that you’re thankful for. As I write this blog, I cannot say ‘THANK YOU’ enough to all my Cheeky’s out there. Your readership and loyalty means so much to me. Thank you for your suggestions, participation & everything that you contribute! I am so grateful and look forward to aging together beautifully.

On this Thanksgiving, I thought it would be fitting to share what I’m thankful for as far as skincare goes… so let’s get after it – (in no particular order….)

Clarisonic Cleanser clarisonic-cleansing-brush-pro-how-to-use

I cannot go a day without using it. My skin craves it and feels oh so soft after it. Check out the diagram to see how you should be using your Clarisonic brush. Using a cleansing brush is so beneficial to your skin, it helps with:

  • Dullness
  • Softness
  • Radiance
  • Firmness
  • Improved texture
  • Makeup removal (removes 6X better than hands)
  • Better absorption of products
  • Increased cell turnover
  • Smaller pores
  • The list goes on….

#CheekyConfidential Excellent Christmas gift idea!

Ohhh and if you’re in need of a refill, check out this product on Amazon – soooo much cheaper than the Clarisonic brand refills.

Botox & Fillers

I’ve gotten crap for this before but there ain’t no shame in my game (I used to not admit it but why should I feel bad about it?!). Everybody does things that make them feel better about themselves & this is one of them for mwah. Every 3-5 months I stop in for a good Botox and filler session with my peeps at Tucson Cosmetics. The Botox smooths out my forehead and crowsfeet wrinkles, while the filler adds volume to my under eye area.

One should never go without retinol! Even us ‘youngsters’. Talk to your skincare doc about starting up a retinol regiment if you’re not already using it. Read our blog The 411 on Retinol to see why you need it in your life.

My Daily Skincare Cocktail2016-11-20_10-12-34

I need to start using my new cleanser African Black Soap because Cetaphil is now using parabens in their latest mixture but I swear by my new routine for healthier, glowing skin.

Vital C by Visao MD (spotless kit)- delivers anti-inflammatory and brightening properties. It soothes and promotes healing while supporting wrinkle reduction, collagen production & cell renewal.

Glycol Restor 20X Visao MD – exfoliating lotion that purifies the skin, encourages cell turnover, addresses fine lines and brightens dull skin.

Complexion Correction Visao MD (spotless kit & prescription required) – thanks to my Italian heritage & years of birth control use, this helps to combat my dark spots.

Retinol SkinMedica – Retinol as you know is my go-to for anti-aging. Retinol helps to reduce fine lines & wrinkles, skin discoloration, blemishes and so much more!

…my sunscreen isn’t in the photo, but I absolutely love my sunscreen & apply it daily!

Manuka Honey2016-11-20_10-23-27

My skin tends to be drier than not. Manuka honey has done so much for my skin! For the last 6 days, I’ve used manuka honey on my face and left it on for 3-5 hours – as long as I can before going out in public. This new regiment that I’m trying out has helped with overall dryness & this new cystic acne that’s popped up on my face from getting off my birth control after 15 years.

Mesoestetic Cosmelan

One of my ultimate favorites! Nothing helps with my dark spots as much as Mesoestic Cosmelan… the others simply seem to maintain the benefits gained from this treatment. I have what doctors categorize as severe hyperpigmentation. This product does the trick for me & I am so glad I found it! Though it’s got a steep price tag, I wouldn’t give this up for all the tea in China!

Neocell Super Collagen + C

I pop 6 of these pills every day and have been doing it for the last several years! Collagen supplments help slow down the aging process.

Other things I’m thankful for….

  • Water – obviously it’s important to hydrate. I am not the best water drinker but I’m getting better.
  • Razor & tweezers – I have more facial hair than any woman should 😉 Thank baby Jesus for these tools!
  • Aztec Healing Clay Mask – does such an awesome job to absorb toxins and impurities found on my skin.
  • New skincare techniques & advancements – We LOVE trying new things on the market!

I haven’t found an eye cream I’m thankful for, but I’m hoping that the Prickly Pear Oil will be my all-time favorite! (I asked for it for Christmas, thanks Eric!)

I could probably go on and on!
